The Real Estate Agents Licensing Board is no longer the licensing body for the Real Estate Industry. The Real Estate Agents Act 1976 is replaced by the Real Estate Agents Act 2008.  All applications and enquiries should now be made to the Real Estate Agents Authority ["REAA"]  You can contact the REAA on 0800367732 or www.reaa.govt.nz

Applications for approval made to the REALB prior to 17 November 2009 but not yet determined will continue to be processed by this office under the transitional provisions of the 2008 Act (S.169).

The Real Estate Agents Act 1976 is replaced by the Real Estate Agents Act 2008 as the governing legislation for the real estate industry in New Zealand. The Real Estate Agents Licensing Board was an independent statutory body constituted under S.4 of the 1976 Act, whose five members, appointed by the Minister of Justice  consist of:

The Board had disciplinary powers under the Act to cancel or suspend a real estate agent's licence or a salesperson’s certificate, as well as impose fines.
